Xanga Banner Fail – Requesting Help
Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me out with this, as it’s incredibly frustrating. The Xanga banner on the top of the page is overlapping on the content. I’ve tried people’s advice and upgraded my Firefox browser, but that just made me lose a lot of my add-ons and now I have the same problem. So I’m calling out to the combined intelligence of the Xanga community to help me out. I’m so fucked.
This is what it looks like on my homepage:
As you can see, it covers up some of the words on the top. Annoying, but not really problematic. However…
This is me trying to send a private message to C&S (because I don’t want my secret to be THAT secret), and as you can see the message title box is completely covered.
So, anyone know what’s up and what I can do to fix this? Sorry to devote an entire blog to this, I promise that the next one will be great*!
*Great is a euphemism for adequate

I think you may have to contact the xanga team about it..though that is weird. I have the latest install of firefox and chrome..and I do not have this problem. Weird. If you already updated firefox, then it can’t be your browser? Have you tried other browsers out and see if it is still a issue on there? Because if it is…then it might not be your browser but maybe xanga itself. And in that case..

@GodlessLiberal - Or it could be firefox that is having the problem. I’d probably suggest uninstalling and reinstalling. (That’s what I do when I have a problem that can’t be fixed). Hopefully it will correct itself..if not..;(

Thats a really odd problem. I use Firefox on both our computers and I’ve never had an issue like this. I wish I knew how to help you!
you are reading “The Complete Dinosaur” currently. i doubt that’s what’s causing your Firefox browser to act weirdly though. is it possible you inadvertently hit one of your F keys and that changed the view in Firefox? I’ve done that with both Chrome and IE. F11 for example toggles my view between normal and full screen. if your F keys turn out not to be the problem i’d say by process of elimination it probably does have something to do with your dinosaur book.
@TheSutraDude - I’m reading up for next week when I take a super foxy lady on a date to the science museum. I gotta be ready to impress her with my nerdiness. I’m normally plenty well equipped to do this with other girls, but this one is super nerdy as well, so I gotta step up my game.
And the problem is only with Xanga, not with any other page I’m browsing.

You might try holding down the CTRL key and pressing the minus key near the upper right hand corner. Or go to the View menu and try some things that are listed there.
You said you updated Firefox. All the way to 4.0, because I upgraded to 4.0 for the streamlined look and it cut down on how much I hated the Xanga bar. Maybe that will help you if you haven’t tried already. I’ve never encountered that permanently. A browser refresh always did it. Maybe reinstalling Firefox? Dunno. That was my best shot. XD
@Pluviaumbra - Yeah, all the way to 4.0. Tried reinstalling, no luck. Oh well, I can get around it, it’s just annoying.
