@Pink_TeaCups - I know the show airs in the UK, you just have to find a site that hosts it.
Well, what is it?
"That's the problem with poor people: they still have some of their skin." I love him.
@Pink_TeaCups - Basically talking about how raising taxes on the top two percent of Americans will raise 700 billion dollars in revenue, but Republicans are talking about taxing the 50 percent of Americans who don't pay taxes. He then points out that the bottom 50% of Americans have 2.5% of the wealth, and if you take "half of everything they have in the world" you get the same $700B.
lol! "We need to take ALL of what the bottom 50% have"
It absolutely sickens me how politicians and people in the media try to encourage hatred of the poor. I watch their speeches, and it becomes evident to me that they try to encourage middle-class people to hate and resent the poor in order to get more votes. Being from a middle-class family myself, I recognize that I'm probably among their target audience, and it disgusts me that they want me to hate people who have less money and vote for people who would hurt those who are less fortunate.
i love Jon Stewart. he's hilarious while at the same time right on the mark.
John Stewart for President! XP
I'm still with Stewart for president on the facespace....
