True story bro. (Although, technically, your title should be: "America is not a Republic" )
Guess what - it never really was. When the Constitution was adopted, only white, male, property holders could voy. For much of the i9th century, no-whites could not vote and, when they theoretically could, it many states they really couldn't. Untilless than a century ago, women couldn't vote. Property and money always trumped people.
