What is the difference between a Humanist and a Atheist???
@Doubledb - An atheist is simply someone who does not believe in god or gods. It's like stating you don't believe in Bigfoot. It, in itself, does not proscribe a set of values. A humanist is someone who takes atheism and looks for basic values that should apply to humanity with or without gods. Humanism has a set of guidelines for living life. Most of them fall in line with a basic "be nice to other people, help those that need it, don't discriminate against anybody" policy, but there's no "set in stone" rules. It's not like a religion in that there is no one set of rules, especially one handed down from a higher power.
That's a football player? Ok, not all of them are meatheads, then.
I agree with everything he said. And I'm a Christian.
I wish we could all just get along. That said, followe me ...!
