  • Are you my daddy?

  • NO I’M NOT, YOU TAKE THAT BACK KRISKO.

  • Generally, a child is born into the families listed above. For two “gay” guys to raise a child, the child has to be inserted. That is the difference.

  • Don’t gay kids come from heterosexual couples – be those couples married or not?  Maybe they come from the tooth decay fairy.

  • @FringeChristian@revelife - that’s a very stupid and meaningless distinction. The obvious point made by the post is that we allow children to be adopted/raised by all kinds of unfit parents, but we won’t let completely qualified, loving homosexual couples adopt children.

Plus, one of the primary reasons people adopt is that they cannot have a child on their own.

  • Some states DO allow gay & lesbian couples to adopt children.  I have a lesbian niece and she and her partner are raising 2 boys.  I also have a gay nephew in another state and he and his partner are raising a boy and a girl.  I know 4 verylucky children.

  • @FringeChristian@revelife - Yes, but hateful bigots can adopt kids as well. There is no law against that. Hell, there’s not even an attempt to keep racists from adopting by any legislator.

@DEISENBERG - My girlfriend was a surrogate for a gay couple, and they are now raising a pair of twin girls. The only concern about this I have (aside from any flak the kids could get from other kids) is how two men are going to help two girls through puberty. And it’s not like they don’t have friend and self-help books for that. It’s not like all mothers are exactly amazing at helping their daughters through the process.

  • sadly, some things are just meant to be puzzling.  i think it’s mostly out of fear.  fear for what they don’t know and refuse to know.  a bit like judging books by their covers.
